Welcome to Waverley meetings on-line
From here you will be able to access webcasts of our live council meetings, view archived council meetings from the last few months, view or complete any surveys or polls and access any documents or presentations associated to the webcasts.
Upcoming and our most recent meetings are displayed on the right hand side of this page.
To view an archive of a recent meeting simply click on the title of the meeting you wish to view. If you would rather use a text based version of the player then please use the 'text' link at the top of the player window for the meeting you are viewing.
If the webcast you are after is older than those displayed in the recent list then please take a look at the webcasts page which features a complete list of our available archived council meetings.
If you still cannot find the meeting you are looking for then please make use of the search facility. The search box in the navigation bar on each page will search through the title, description and keywords associated with a meeting and display a list of relevant meetings. Should you wish to make a more specific search (e.g. title only) then you can do that through the advanced search page by entering the search terms and where you want to search on the right hand side of the page.
Should you miss a meeting, or like to view a section of the meeting again, then you can view the archive of the webcast. The archives allow you to view the meeting at your leisure and, through the use of the index points, allow you to jump to a specific agenda point or speaker. Archives are retained on-line for six months.

What is a Webcast?
A webcast is basically a transmission of audio and video over the internet. Video cameras at our council meetings capture the live information and send it to a central server, which in turn sends it to anyone that would like to view the meeting. Through the use of your internet connection (either broadband or via a dial-up modem) and Real's free player you can view the meetings live from the comfort of your own home or office.Should you miss a meeting, or like to view a section of the meeting again, then you can view the archive of the webcast. The archives allow you to view the meeting at your leisure and, through the use of the index points, allow you to jump to a specific agenda point or speaker. NEWS.....Webcast Project chosen as eTen Project of the Year 2006
EUROPEAN eTEN Project of the Year 2006 - bringing greater transparency and openness in council decision making
eParticipate has been chosen as the Best Communicating project of 2006 in an online vote across Europe.
Waverley Borough Council is the UK partner in eParticipate, a project funded through the European Community's eTEN Programme. This project makes council meetings available over the internet in a simple way with clear indexing and useful information about the speaker or the topic under discussion. This means people can see how a decision is made at a time convenient to them without having to travel to the meeting. The meetings are also available in an archive form for 6 months.
The webcast project has extended use of the technology, developed by Sussex based Public-i, to Ireland, Spain and Slovakia and has seen a significant increase in public participation in local democracy.
After an interim evaluation by independent reviewers (a score of excellent in two categories), which demonstrated the success of the project, eParticipate was initially chosen by the eTEN programme as the Project of the Month in April 2006. It was subsequently also chosen as Project of the Year.
